Counterfit Cat is an animated British-Canadian co-production by Wildseed Studio and Tricon Kids & Family for Disney XD in the United Kingdom and in the United States, and Teletoon in Canada, with animation production by Atomic Cartoons. The series focuses on the friendship between an alien named Gark disguised as a cat and a real cat named Max. A preview of the series aired in the U.S. on May 12, 2016; the series later premiered also in the U.S. on June 20, 2016; however as of July 7, 2016 only 13 half-hour episodes have aired and the series was later replaced with Fangbone! on its time slot. Since then, only two holiday episodes premiered -- a Halloween episode on October 31, 2016 and a Christmas episode on December 3, 2016. The series will return with new episodes airing daily in the U.S. starting January 3, 2017.

Characters

• Gark (voiced by Alex Kelly): An alien disguised as a purple cat. He made a crash landing into the laundry room of Max and his owner, Betty. After becoming friends with Max, Gark is oblivious to how life works on Earth. Max would often use Gark's alien powers to his advantage.
• Max (voiced by Marc Woolton): A yellow cat who became friends with Gark. He can be lazy and quite a coward. Max usually uses Gark's powers whenever they're in trouble.
• Betty (voiced by Kayvan Novak): An elderly woman who is Max's owner. She doesn't know that Gark is actually an alien.
